PenKit requires no account and includes no advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, or third-party sign-in.
1. On-Device Storage Only
Your settings and saved notes stay exclusively in the app’s private on-device container. They are not uploaded to any developer-operated service, server, or database. Your thoughts, excerpts, and browser extensions remain entirely yours.
2. No Data Collection & Tracking
We do not collect, monitor, or track your personal information, writing pad inputs, webpage visits, clipboard content, or notes. Under Apple’s privacy frameworks, tracking is completely disabled:
- No tracking domains are contacted.
- No third-party SDKs are embedded in the app or extension.
- No analytics systems are implemented to monitor user behavior.
3. System API & Custom Configuration
PenKit accesses standard iOS/iPadOS system features solely to provide its core service:
- UserDefaults: Standard API categories are used to load and persist your extension toggle preferences, appearance styles, and site exclusions locally.
- SwiftData: A local relational model stores your selected texts and clip metadata directly inside the device sandbox.
4. Under 13 & General Eligibility
Because PenKit is designed around absolute privacy and offline operation, it does not prompt for, collect, or store personal details. It is safe for all users, including children, as no communication channel exists to transmit user details outside of the local device.
